Violinist Larry Deming is a musical Renaissance man: composer, band leader, classical musician, side man, teacher, and recording artist.

Equally at home playing in the Danbury Symphony Orchestra (as the Concertmaster), fiddling a bluegrass hoe down or a Middle Eastern Belly Dance tune, Larry's musicianship knows no boundaries. He plays with a masterful virtuosity that has landed him gigs with the likes of Chet Atkins, John Denver, Placido Domingo, Luciano Pavarotti, James Taylor, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, and the alt.bluegrass outfit HOE, among many others. He has also released a CD on Orchard Hill Records, "Mythos".

For the Journey to the East recording, Larry arranged folk dances, traditional songs and instrumental pieces, and he composed original pieces to evoke countries and regions all the way from Ancient Greece to modern day Japan. Larry played Violin, Viola, Bulgarian Tambura, Strum Stick and Chinese Banjo.

A love for composing music grew out of Deming’s musical activities playing violin, viola, piano and church organ as a student in Danbury, CT. Larry attended the Indiana University School of Music and received a BS in Music (Violin). IU opened vast new musical terrain for him in Early Music consorts, String Quartets, Orchestras, jazz-rock fusion groups and electronic music ensembles. He studied composition with C. Bryan Rulon and John Eaton. Larry is currently the Concertmaster of the Danbury Symphony Orchestra and is Director of the Summer Strings Program at the Danbury Music Centre. He has also been a member of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra, the Springfield (MA) Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Larry teaches privately and at the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT.
